Daniel Dumont Writes on IGN's Official Sacred 2 Blog

Today on IGN's official Sacred 2 blog, renowned designer Daniel Dumont walks readers through the creation of a special quest in the game. In this post, he describes the backstory for the quest, and his thoughts as he designs this special quest.

“Fortunately the hero learns that he can intensify his resistance against the effects of the fog by eating a certain marsh marigold (lat. name Caltha palustris, a relative of the common marigold). After this preparation he faces the fog-monster in a swamp region where there's an old and scary cemetery nearby. He shouldn't get too close to the fog, because even though he's increased his resistance it is still able to weaken him.”

My Little Baby at MTV's Multiplayer Blog

Although he clearly feels he’s not ready for a baby, Patrick Klepek , from MTV’s Multiplayer blog, jokingly dishes out his feelings about cdv’s newest Nintendo DS title My Little Baby.  Warning: it’s quite humorous!

"At a small press event CDV Software a few weeks ago, a representative ran through their DS lineup, including "My Little Baby." It's pretty much what you'd expect: a baby simulator. Is there something — anything? — more terrifying than that to a 23-year-old?"

GamingNexus Diary at cdv Press Event

GamingNexus has posted a feature today focusing on a journal of events, as well as comments made by editors and cdv staff, about Sacred 2 at cdv’s recent press event in San Francisco.

“This is their maiden voyage into console development, although an immense portion of the game is already stable enough to allow dozens of players to teleport at will across its 22-square-mile map.  (For comparison’s sake, Oblivion’s map was 16 square miles.)  That’s not including two more levels of wormy underground tunnels in the Sacred land of Ancaria.”

GameInformer Positive Preview of Sacred 2

This month's issue of North America's leading print magazine for video games, GameInformer, features a very positive preview of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel:

"Sacred 2....raises the bar in so many ways that it defies the inevitable Diablo comparisons … As nice as the visuals are, the powerful new proprietary rendering engine is the least of Sacred 2’s improvements. Twenty-two square miles of seamless handcrafted landscape hold enough secrets to keep adventurers busy for months. No generic, randomly generated dungeons or loading screens bog down players in their quest to either restore the balance of magic in the world or seize power for themselves as on of six classes. It’s a big, beautiful world.”

And

“If Ascaron can nail the gameplay – and the developer’s track record suggests that it likely will – Sacred 2 has a good shot at living up to its sky-high potential.”
